How do I schedule?
Scheduling is easy and completely under your control. You book your own sessions through Calendly links that I provide. You may select 60- or 90-minute sessions at any frequency — weekly, biweekly, or monthly are common choices. There is never an obligation to reschedule.
Do you take insurance? How do I pay?
I am not a licensed therapist and so I do not take insurance. I collect fees through PayPal, which is integrated into the Calendly scheduling process. I can also take payments through Venmo and Zelle.
How affordable is this?
For individuals, I offer a schedule you build yourself. Choose your own appointments from a menu on Calendly — every two weeks, once a month, or whenever you can. There is no obligation to continue — if you need to stop, just don’t reschedule. And if individual sessions are truly outside of your budget, you may wish to seek out the more affordable group sessions.
Do you see clients online or in person?
At this time, I am only seeing clients via Zoom.
Where are you located?
I’m in the metro area of Atlanta, GA, USA, in the Eastern time zone. I see clients globally.
Can I record my sessions?
Yes. You may record your own sessions through Zoom or other means that work for you. I prefer to allow you to record a local file that is downloaded directly to your own computer upon exiting our session. That way, only you have access to the recording.
Why are you offering coaching and not therapy? What’s the difference?
I have a background as a community college sociology professor and advisor. I am educated and experienced in human behavior, but not in the fields that would qualify me to be a licensed therapist. As a coach, I bring my IFS training to meet you where you are and help you heal in a way that increases your Self-leadership. Therapists can offer additional, widely varied skill sets from their specific education and training in counseling and other models of therapy.
Do you work with exiles or do unburdenings?
Yes. I offer the full range of the IFS model according to my training, which includes unburdenings.
Do you work with spiritual energies like unattached burdens, legacy burdens, and collective burdens?
Yes. I am experienced with bringing compassionate healing to release these energies.
What if my parts want to cause harm?
It is outside my scope to be the sole practitioner for clients who experience parts who are actively working to cause harm to themselves or others. In those cases, I would need to work with you as part of a team of healing professionals who can provide you with crisis support.
Can IFS help me?
True to the model, I believe that there are few issues that IFS cannot touch. Even if you are dealing with an issue that requires other types of action, I can help you work with your parts to reach clarity on how to proceed.
What do your clients say about you?
Please read the testimonials I have been fortunate to gather from clients. They offer a diverse and multifaceted set of perspectives on what it can be like to work with me.
